Next Saturday, April 15th at 4pm, the opening of the installation “Plagiarism” by Mathias Gramoso and Roman Gebhardt will take place at MIRA | performing arts.

This installation opens up a new program cycle dedicated to digital art.

“plagio- , is a collaborative project in between Mathias Gramoso and Roman Gebhardt that transcribes the verse of Paul Claudel „Tout ce que le cœur désire peut toujours se réduire à la figure de l’eau.”* into the domain of sound by applying a generative algorithm for music creation. The resulting sonic experience translates the poem’s emotive content written by the poet into a different form of perception, relating nature, sentiment and technology into different types of human communication.

By these means, the work sets a focus on the topic of translation, communication and the attempt to distill emotion, from the human to the machine and backwards via different medias, created by both entities.”
