HUMAN, POST-HUMAN, PRO-HUMAN

Conversation with João Sousa Dias

MIRA Galerias | MIRA FORUM

Evento

25.10—25.10.2025

The idea of human nature is much more recent than generally thought.

But does human nature really exist?

What if, paradoxically, this nature only made sense if it were conceived in future terms, as a nonexistent reality yet to come?

This conference is part of the "Ground, Earth, and People" program.

Biographical Note

SOUSA DIAS

Philosopher. Professor at ICAFG (Porto). He has published several books, including The Logic of the Event (on Gilles Deleuze), The Greatness of Marx, What is Poetry?, and The Four Ages of Philosophy.

At the heart of the thought of the literary founder of philosophy, Plato, is the question of the original and the copy, which carries with it an obvious aesthetic resonance. Add the drama of the character Socrates, who represents the thinker who stands at the door of writing, and we have a picture of much of what continues to shape the literary transformations of contemporary philosophical discourse today.

He has collaborated with MIRA Galleries, notably through the coordination of the conference series "Questions for Free Spirits."
