Primitiva was born from the desire to look at the world with time — to reclaim space for stories that linger, that listen and reveal. It is a new print magazine dedicated to travel journalism, photography and discovery, published biannually and conceived as an object to be kept, reread and felt.

More than a travel magazine, Primitiva is an invitation to slow down, observe, and understand. To discover what is truly human—and therefore primitive—in every journey.

At the launch event, designer Fábio Alves will present the graphic and visual concept of the magazine, explaining how the form translates the essence of Primitiva. This will be followed by a conversation moderated by journalist Amanda Ribeiro, which will bring together the founders Fábio Alves, Luísa Pinto, Luís Octávio Costa, Filipe Morato Gomes and Rui Barbosa Batista — five voices that share the same impulse: to tell stories that matter, with depth and respect for the world.

Luís Octávio Costa and Luísa Pinto were journalists at Público for over 20 years. He is @kitato on Instagram, she is the founder of the Rostos da Aldeia project.

Rui Barbosa Batista is a journalist at Lusa and a travel columnist on the blog Bornfreee.

Filipe Morato Gomes is a travel columnist, founder of the blog Alma de Viajante and former president of the Portuguese Association of Travel Bloggers.

Fábio Alves is a designer, founder of the design studio MarkaBranka, based in Monção, and has creative direction for Primitiva magazine.
