We present the open call for the 10th edition of MIRA Pinhole Photography 2024 promoted by MIRA FORUM gallery in Porto. With this call/open call, we intend to bring together a significant set of photographs taken with pinhole cameras, built, adapted or acquired, using any sensitive material, analog or digital, and which, in some way, are representative of this technique.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1 – GENERAL CONDITIONS
1.1 - All authors over 16 years old who take photos with pinhole cameras can participate.
1.2 - The theme is free
1.3 – Candidates can submit up to 3 images exclusively captured with pinhole cameras
1.4 – Candidates must fully own the copyright
1.5 – Images must be sent by October 19th
1.6 – Submitting applications is free.
1.7 – Around 50 photographs will be selected and will be printed and displayed in the MIRA FORUM gallery. In this case, authors will be asked to pay a fee of €35 (US$37) to cover the costs of printing, framing, assembly, communication and assistance in the exhibition room.
1.8 - A projection with other selected photographs that are not included in the Shortlist will also be part of the exhibition.
1.8 – The opening of the exhibition takes place on November 16th at 4pm, and will be open until December 31th.
2 - SPECIFICATIONS FOR SENDING IMAGES
2.1 – Photographs must be sent in a single email (maximum 3 photographs) to
mirapinhole@miragalerias.net
Only photographs sent as attachments to the email are accepted.
2.2 – Images must meet the following requirements:
. Format: jpeg
. Minimum size: 1000 pixels on the longest side
. File size: larger than 100kb and smaller than 7MB
2.3 – Photographs that include signatures, watermarks or frames are not accepted
2.4 – Each file must be identified as follows:
. first and last name, followed by dash and image number as per example:
JoséSilva_01; JoséSilva_02; JoséSilva_03
. Use only alphanumeric characters (do not use: .:’”/?}{()[ ]+-=*&^ %$#@!.).
2.4 - After submission, each participant will receive an email confirming their submission.
2.5 – The organization is not responsible for any overloads of the computer system that serves as the open-call platform.
2.6 – Submissions will not be returned. Only selected winning works will be saved for publicity purposes.
2.7 - MIRA Pinhole Photography is not responsible for any failure and/or loss of the application.
2.8 - All rights to the images belong to the participants. Any image used by MIRA FORUM will be identified with the respective copyright. Their use may be included in publications and/or dissemination with respective identification.
3. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
3.1 – The organizing committee is made up of 5 elements:
Adelino Marques, António Martins Teixeira, Augusto Lemos, João Lafuente and Rui Apolinário
3.1 – The organizing committee is responsible for selecting the works for the exhibition.
3.2 - There will be no appeal from the decision of the organizing committee.
