"VOICE OF WOMEN" AWARD

MIRA Galerias | MIRA FORUM

Evento

23.03.2024

MIRA Galerias - located in Campanhã, Porto - established the "Voice of Women" award to recognize the best national film regardless of competition category, which addresses the affirmation of women's use of voice in denouncing discrimination across various dimensions of life. This edition's selection was the documentary "Clandestina" by Maria Mire. The filmmaker draws from Margarida Tengarrinha's work "Memórias de uma Falsificadora - A Luta na Clandestinidade pela Liberdade em Portugal", recounting her experience as a document forger during the dictatorship. The documentary translates this experience into contemporary reality.

An artistic residency - the "Voice of Women" award - will take place at MIRA, focusing on the women of Campanhã.
